The heartbeat of Hope City has always been to love God, love people, and change the world. When God brought Pastor Morris and Neema Swai to Hope City in 2015, they never imagined the plan God had to bring hope to their home country of Tanzania.

After having lived his entire life in Tanzania, Morris felt God leading him to leave his country and move to Houston, Texas, in 2000.  It was there that he met his beautiful wife Neema, and their two sons, Rumisha Benaiah and Ndaishima Eleazar were born. During this time, Morris couldn’t deny the burden God had placed on his heart for the country of Tanzania and so began traveling back and forth to regions in East Africa, teaching and preaching the Gospel.

While living in Houston, Morris and Neema longed for a community of faith where they could grow together, fellowship with others, and experience the life-transforming presence of Jesus. They immediately got plugged in, jumped on the Dream Team, and  started serving! The deeper they got connected to Hope City, the stronger their passion became to see the revival that is happening in the city of Houston take place in their home country.

We are so honored and excited to be supporting Morris and Neema’s family as they follow what God is calling them to do. They moved back to launch Hope City Tanzania in the Spring of 2019. We can’t wait to see revival spark in Dar Es Salaam as they continue to love God, love people and change the world with us!
