Central Early Childhood

Purpose of the Job:

To provide leadership to the Hope City Kids Department to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the overall operations of the Early Childhood Department. To be the head of all early childhood curriculum. To provide a high-level of leadership and creativity to Hope City Kids.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

  • Supervise multiple projects effectively
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
  • A love and calling toward ministry to children and families
  • Ability to learn and use Planning Center software
  • Extensive experience and high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization skills with a particular emphasis on follow-through and attention to detail
  • Ability to think and act independently with a high degree of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to create, analyze and maintain project budgets

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a management for Nursery, Toddler, and Pre-K coordinators at each campus
  • Create and edit all early childhood curriculum, for locations and online services
  • Connect with early childhood coordinators weekly, sending curriculum and any updates to them
  • Connect with other Kids staff about curriculum planning and events
  • Respond to Kids Central Director with emergencies/urgent issues as they arise
  • Respond to emails and phone calls within a 24-hour time frame
  • Participate in annual budget preparation to ensure adequate funds for operation of Hope City Kids Campus
  • Respond and minister to pastoral care needs of children and team members
  • Purchase kids equipment and supplies for services
  • Liaison with accounting department to ensure accurate processing of team purchase orders, check requests and invoices
  • Maintain a strong, organized filing system which requires a thorough knowledge of all ongoing projects and activities within the Hope City Kids Campus teams
  • Shop for curriculum and craft supplies when necessary
  • Participate in weekly department meetings to discuss enhancing the weekend experience and upcoming events
  • Communicate with the Elementary director about upcoming events
  • Help with planning Child Dedication twice a year

Plus One Duties and/or Other Duties:

  • Work with Central Kids Director in developing current and future vision/direction of the Early Childhood department
  • Oversee the selection, management, and distribution of approved curriculum and resources for all Early Childhood volunteers
  • Work with the appropriate staff to develop and implement all security measures related to the Early Childhood departments, including volunteer screening and class/ building safety.
  • Oversee the development and distribution of the Early Childhood department’s forms, brochures, handbooks and reports.
  • Responsible for ordering ministry curriculum, audio/visual resources, and supplies for Early Childhood department
  • Develop strategies for equipping early childhood parents to disciple children during the week.
  • Prepare and implement weekly early childhood curriculum for all satellite campuses and have Central Kids Director review and approve.
  • Utilize creative skills to enhance Hope Ciy Kids curriculum
  • Work with Central Kids Director to build early childhood Dream Team and ensure proper training of dream teamers.
  • Develop and coordinate opportunities to invest in Dream Team member’s spiritual maturity/health/giftings.
  • Execute additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
